As a professor of English and creative writing, I have a lot of experience working with writers to shape, define, and clarify their voice. I’m an experienced writer, editor, and ghost writer. I’ve worked on numerous projects editing other people’s writing (everything from novels, memoirs, poetry manuscripts, grant proposals, to college and graduate school admissions essays) and have also written book proposals and sample chapters to submit to agents on behalf of others. As a professional editor of three anthologies, I have a great deal of experience identifying and articulating the strengths of a project and helping to give it shape.

“Persis was very helpful and erudite with her feedback on my project. I found her commentary to be intuitive and insightful. It allowed me to see through my blind spots regarding my manuscript, and opened up new pathways for my creativity. I highly recommend Persis as an editor. She will definitely help you hone your craft and bring your book to fruition.” — Balthazar T.
“Persis came into my life and the life of my book at just the right time. Her editorial feedback and support was critical to me finishing and publishing my book. She is a gracious and generous editor/coach. I will always be grateful to her for her support and her keen editor’s eye.” — Dr. Rahimeh Andalibian, author of the two-starred Publishers Weekly favorite, The Rose Hotel.
